Commonly known as the “energy vitamin”, vitamin B-12 may help the body metabolize carbohydrates, proteins, and fats and assist in energy production.
This essential vitamin may help the body metabolize carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. Studies suggest in its methylcobalamin form B12 may play a key role in supporting the normal functioning of an already healthy brain and nervous system, and, further, it may support the formation and maintenance of red blood cells. Additionally, Vitamin B12 plays a role in a range of metabolism functions including DNA synthesis and regulation, fatty acid synthesis, and energy production. Supplementation is especially recommended for the elderly and vegans and vegetarians as their diets typically do not provide active forms of B12 Methylcobalamin.**
